Ametrine is a gorgeous crystal with a variation of colors, from deep purple, to lilac, to vibrant yellow. Almost all ametrine comes from one mine in the world in southeastern Bolivia. Ametrine is a naturally occuring combination of amethyst and citrine. Ametrine has a legendary tale attached to it. The tale is a Spanish conquistador discovered the mine in the 1600's and introduced it to the Europeans when he presented them to the queen. The mine was lost for more than 3 centuries, but was rediscovered in the 1960's, and up and running by the 1970's. Ametrine has a variety of benefits, like stimulating creativity, relieving tension, and boosting self-confidence. Ametrine is believed to help detoxify the body, because both citrine and amethyst are detoxifiers. Ametrine is most beneficial to people under the zodiac Saggitarius or Pisces.
